Captain America: Civil War ~ Meh, I always thought the characters in Civil War were written badly and inaccurately from how they had been depicted for the previous 30 years. The story itself was good but the characters involved were incorrect. I figure the MCU will improve upon it like they did with the extremis story for IM3. Also disappointed that Iron Man is going to be in the movie. Inevitably it will be Iron Man's movie and not Captain's. I was most looking forward to seeing Baron Zemo finally make an appearance. Looks like that's not going to happen.

Marvel Studios pulled some major strings and now have Spider-Man available to use! This is both awesome and terrible. Awesome in that... It's Spider-Man! Terrible in that Marvel Studios was doing perfectly fine without him and instead of more Spider-Man stuff we were getting heroes and characters we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. Now Marvel Studios is shoehorning Spidey into Phase 3 and pushing characters that have never had a movie before further back. Thanks, I think?
Anyway, from the trailers Captain America: Civil War looks awesome! My original impression of the film has been changed and I am wholly on-board with what the Russo Brothers seem to be doing. And it looks like we will be getting Baron Zemo after all! If this movie is as good as Winter Soldier, even half as good, or by some miracle even better... this movie could be the best Marvel film to date.

Doctor Strange ~ Super excited about this one! Scott Derrickson's latest film Deliver Us From Evil has me convinced he's the right man for the job. I am especially excited that it's going to be a horror film! I hope they save Dormammu for Dr. Strange 3!

Guardians 2 ~ Also super excited for this one! I hope we see Thanos take a bigger role in it. Adam Warlock. Mar-Vell. The Original Guardians from the year 3000 a.d. Kang the Conqueror. That's a tall order. We'll see what gets scrapped and what stays. I also hope it dials back the humor a bit and ratchets up the tension the closer we get to Avengers 3.

Again, Marvel Studios is keeping very quiet about the details but filming has commenced and casting and character info has leaked. The character of MANTIS is confirmed. This is great because she was a big part of the Guardians team in addition to being an Avenger from the 1970's not to mention a unique and awesome character in her own right. Kurt Russell has been cast along with rumors of Sylvester Stallone! I love both of these guys! Director James Gunn has also announced that the story will focus on Star-Lord's father and further developing the team as characters. Very very excited!

Here's where I have issues. I'd love to see Marvel Studios take on Spider-Man, lord knows everyone else has. But throwing it in here creates all sorts of problems. Every other film slated for Phase Three (except both Avengers movies) is pushed back meaning Thor 3, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and the Inhumans all have to wait so we can get the SIXTH Spider-man movie. While other great characters have to wait longer for their first movie. I like that Spidey will get the chance to play ball in the Avengers world but I loathe what it has cost us.
Thor 3: Ragnarok ~ This film better be a 3 hour epic. Loki on the throne. Enchantress and Executioner. Surtur and the end of everything. I am very excited for this too! I just hope it isn't easily wrapped up in 118 minutes. That would be disappointing.

Our first casualty of Spider-Man, Thor 3 has been pushed back from July to November. Not much is yet known about the movie except that Kevin Feige had stated that this film will be a game changer and immensely crucial to the films going forward. That sounds awesome! Also worthy of note, THE HULK is going to be co-starring in the film! ARRRHH!! I HATE YOU, SPIDER-MAN! Cate Blanchett is also rumored to be cast for the film. Man, I am so looking forward to this movie!
Black Panther ~ Don't care. Never liked the character. But maybe the movie will make me a fan. Who knows.

Our next casualty of web-slinging. I still have little interest in the character but I am hoping that Cap 3 will change all of that. I just have no idea what they're going to do and therefore nothing to get me excited about it all.

Joss Whedon is out. Joe and Anthony Russo are in. 67 plus characters will partake. If Civil War sucks I will be extremely worried about this film. If Civil War is everything I hope it will be then Infinity War will be the greatest super hero epic of all time.

Once the reviews were in and the box office receipts were totaled Marvel Studios announced another new movie to be shoehorned into the Phase 3 schedule. I'm less agitated about this one than Spider-Man but I'm still ruffled. I loved the Ant-Man movie and I am very excited about another one but it still creates problems for two films I was looking forward to even more, Captain Marvel and the Inhumans. There is also that same problem I have with Black Panther as to what the heck this movie is going to be about.
Captain Marvel ~ Very VERY excited for this one! Feige stated it will be part Earth origin and part cosmic adventure. That pretty much confirms to me that Carol will have a Kree connection and that means Mar-Vell. I really REALLY want to see Mar-Vell, The Supreme Intelligence, and the Kree empire. I'm hoping it establishes both Carol and Mar-Vell as great heroes with Marv ultimately passing the legacy onto Carol by the end. Feige said they've been working on it since before Doctor Strange. To me that means they've worked very hard to get this one right. Let's hope.

Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 & 2 ~ I am doing backflips I'm so excited about this! Thanos dwarfs anything any of the heroes have faced. This tells me the film makers realized the scope of character that Thanos is and building towards a story so large that one film isn't enough. With so many heroes involved this gives each of them a chance to be treated with justice and given ample screen time. That's always the problem with events in the comic book world. Many characters aren't given their moment to shine. They just kind of are there and don't contribute at all. I and everyone else have really high expectations for this. Hopefully it will live up to the extremely high bar set for it.

Inhumans ~ We've heard this one before. They announced Inhumans for Phase 2 originally to be released before Avengers 2. If it's cosmic and Kree related then I'm excited for it. Given the release schedule both Captain Marvel and Inhumans will be released between Avengers 3 Part 1 and Part 2. If you think about it since all four films are cosmic then all four could continue off each other. To me that gets me very excited! Especially if Thanos plays a big role in the middle two also.

WHAT?! This movie just got pushed back a year too?! And it no longer takes place between Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2?! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING, MARVEL?! Put Captain Marvel and Inhumans back where they were and put Ant-Man & the Wasp or Spider-Man on July 12th 2019! Two cosmic movies sandwiched between Infinity Wars 1 & 2 (also cosmic stories) was genius! You're ruining it! Stop messing with it! Stop!
Disappointments: No solo Hulk film. Thor gets a trilogy. Cap kinda gets a trilogy not really. What about the man who stole the show in Avengers? What about Hulk? He's my all time favorite comic character. He deserves at least one successful trilogy.
As long as phase 3 meets my expectations I don't care what they do with phase 4. Let's face it. How can they top phase 3 without burning out? I would love to see a Guardians trilogy, Doctor Strange Trilogy, and Captain Marvel trilogy. I also want a Sub-Mariner movie too along with a Ghost Rider reboot and Nova movie. That's my wish list
Oh, and two more Hulk movies to give him a proper trilogy
