"Is it what men do that darkens the sky, or do the skies blacken the souls of men?"
Greeting and salutations fellow horror lovers! It's October again and there's no better excuse to sit down and binge horror movies! This is Blood Work's fifth annual horror celebration and my time honored tradition I have come to call...
HALLOWEEN HORROR DAYS!
For those of you just arriving or just getting to know us, every October we conduct a 31 day 31 horror movie marathon, counting down the days to our favorite holiday of the year: Halloween! Sometimes we try to squeeze in more than one horror movie a day if we can and we most definitely try to fit in as many as possible on October 31st. If you have the means we encourage you all to follow along with us and share your thoughts and preferences with us either on our BLOOD WORK Facebook page or here in the comments section!
If you haven't noticed, we're pretty big horror fans here at Blood Work. And our tastes run the gamut of the horror genre from ghost stories to slasher flicks, psychological horror to monster movies. We dig silent horror films, Universal Monsters, Hammer Horror, Roger Corman-Poe Cycle, Vincent Price, gialli, Italian Gothic, Spanish Horror (Amando De Ossorio to Paul Naschy), 70's grindhouse, 80's gore-fests, and so on and so forth. We love it all! Well... nearly all.
What you can expect this month: Every day for the entire month of October there will be a new post published on this blog, namely a review and celebration of a different horror movie. Sometimes there may be more than one new post as we'll even try to complete our regular comic review posts as well any new movie we may see this month (like the new HALLOWEEN movie!), plus the Top Ten List for the month will obviously be horror themed as well! We're going all out this year!
As usual take everything we say as our personal feelings and not "this is how things are." These are our opinions only, not law. We try to be objective in our reviews but sometimes we get carried away. We can't help it though. We love this stuff and we hope you do too. So please let us know what you think, whether you agree with us or not. We'd love to hear from you and hear what your favorite horror movies are!
And in case your appetite for the bloody and macabre just can't be satiated, your hunger for cinematic flesh knows no bounds, shamble your way over to Blood Work's catacombs and feast your eyes on the numerous corpses of horror films we've already sliced and diced. There's plenty more blood to be found just around the corner. Click the link below for the full list of Horror Films we've reviewed here...
And we wish you a Happy Halloween Horror Days!
Let's sink our teeth in, shall we?
